About Woolley Edge Campsite

Overlooking the Pennines beyond with superb views over The Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Emley Moor TV Mast, Welcome to Woolley Edge.

The site consists of 14 acres (9 woodland and 5 grassland) and is maintained to a high standard by Heavy Woollen Scout District. The Activity Centre had undergone a modernisation programme recently with new central heating, double glazing, fire alarm, re-wire and a new roof.

It can sleep up to 20 in 3 bunk rooms. For campers we have a new annex to the building with dedicated toilet and showers for the use of campers.

Barnsley Metrodome, Pool and Leisure facilities.

The Centre

The Centre indoor accommodation includes:

Jubilee Room

A general large hall for dining and activities. It can accommodate up to 70 seated at tables for meals if required. It has stackable chairs and tables to leave a generous floor area.

Kitchen

Fully fitted and equipped with a gas 6 burner stove and oven. Fridge and freezers, Toasters, warming oven, water boiler and twin sinks.
All crockery and cutlery is provided to cater for 20 people.

Bunk Rooms

2 x 8 beds and 1 x 4 beds. All rooms are centrally heated.

Toilets and Showers

We have separate toilet facilities for male and female with a shower in each room.

The Campsite

We offer camping on the fields or in Glades in the wood. The wood is ideal for “Bivvy” camping or in hammocks.

The campers have use of their own toilet block with showers at the end of the activity centre.

Fires and firewood

All fires to be lit in alter fires or the camp fire circle please. No fires are allowed on the ground.
